This is a two city engagement session involving four people in one post. Veronica and I met with Ernesto in April of this year in our Oak Cliff home studio. He was taking care of hiring the photographer since his fiance Angelica lives in Houston. They knew of our work because we photographed Ernesto’s sisters engagement session a few years back.
Fast forward a few months later and we finally get to meet Angelica. She drove to Dallas for their engagement session at the Winspear Opera House grounds. She was so sweet, super down to earth and pretty relaxed for someone who forgot her outfits back in Houston. She made an outfit of what she had in the car and rocked the heck out of it. When they spend time here in Dallas they like to visit and eat at the restaurants in Trinity Groves. So we made sure to hit up the Margaret Hunt Hill bridge while we were there. We always want to make sure we capture our couples in locations that mean something to them.
In mid July we drove south to Houston, where Ernesto proposed and where Angelica lives. We started their session at the Rice University campus. When they first started their courtship this was the place where they came to talk, walk and get to know each other better. This was our first time there and we were totally enamored with the Twilight Epiphany Skyspace by James Turrell. Even with its minimalist design we could shoot a whole session there. Before the fresh morning air became the hot humid air Houston is known for we drove to the Waterwall. This place will always be special to Angelica and Ernesto. This is where he asked a question and where she said yes and was the beginning of this whole story.
