our story as

husband & wife

On our first date, I asked Veronica out for coffee. Quick confession, I hate coffee. So I chose a coffee shop next to a bar, just in case. When we met in the shared parking lot, I asked which one she preferred. She picked the bar, and I remember thinking, okay, I like her already.

It was an old home turned bar in the Bishop Arts District. We sat outside on the wraparound porch and talked for hours. That’s where our story really began. The bar is gone now, but the feeling isn’t. It’s also where our love for telling stories first took root

Behind the lens

Hi, I am a born and raised Dallas gal. I am a foodie who can’t pass up trying a good craft beer every now and then. I started my photography journey when I met Rafael, talked him into shooting a wedding then he fell in love with it and put a camera in my hand. Since then we have met so many great couples

I am obsessed with seafood, charcuterie boards, and good music. I am a big Reality TV fan with an uncontrolled true crime podcast habit. Somehow deep cleaning helps me unwind.

My faves

Incubus is my all time favorite band and I've been lucky enough to see and meet them several times. I even have tattoos based on an album and tour they did.

Family life in our house is creative, loud, and never boring. We have two teenagers who are both into the arts, which keeps things interesting in the best way. With guitars, drums, bass, and singing happening daily, there’s always noise and energy around us. One of our favorite things to do is scare each other when the other least expects it, usually followed by a lot of laughing.

OUR FAMILY

I’m an introvert hiding in the body of an extrovert, so my favorite place to be is with my wife, our kids, and a small group of close friends. As strange as it sounds, work actually relaxes me. I’m lucky enough to do something I genuinely enjoy, and it never really feels like work.

Something kind of random about me is that there’s a certain sound I love. There’s nothing more satisfying to me than the transition from a major chord to a minor chord. It hits every time. If you want to hear exactly what I mean, listen to Morgan Wallen's 7 Summers.

I love movies, not so much for the stories or as an escape, but because they’re where I get a lot of my inspiration. That said, the ones I actually enjoy watching the most are usually the goofiest. Definitely nothing you’d expect to see on an Oscar winners list.

One pleasure I never skip is escaping to a quiet cabin in the woods with my family. We unplug and slow everything down. It’s one of the few times a year I truly step away from work. Even on vacations I tend to keep working, but when we’re there, doing nothing is kind of the whole point.
